I am essentially a landscape artist, although as you can see from my website
I do dabble with abstracts, flora and animals. My website tessa-gallery.co.uk
allows people easy access to see my work and find out a bit more about me,
also providing the opportunity to purchase or commission a painting.
My inspiration - no two brush strokes can ever be the same,
no two paintings will ever match, that is my inspiration!

My introduction to painting began at school.
During my early schooldays I was encouraged to develop a perceived talent in art,
a subject I then studied throughout GCSE and A-levels.
My art teachers significantly helped me to progress artistically; in essence they
taught me the basics for which I will always be grateful.
However at university I studied Media and Business, art then took a back seat
until I moved to London to work within the Media Industry.
Recently moving to Kent, I now look forward to further my art.
However it wasn't until a couple of years ago when
I restarted to paint for pleasure and began work on tessa-gallery.co.uk

My paintings are mainly of landscapes, I try to capture the essence of the scenes
as best I can. I don't try to re-create images, photography is more than
apt at doing that, but push the scene a little further with the imagination.
Although I like to try many different styles I feel that Impressionism has
always been the strongest influence in my work.

To me art is about giving something magical to the viewer; shapes, colours
and textures all spark off the imagination, the brain and senses are stimulated,
prompting emotions way beyond the visual representation. It's about appetite,
stimulation, fascination, and infatuation.

ArtHouse Gallery at the Oad Street Centre, Borden

"Oast at Oad" has a Kent countryside focus and is part of a group exhibition.
There are many more paintings and pieces of artwork at this gallery and once
you have finished there you can stop by the gift shop or grab a coffee at the
restaurant/tearoom to complete the experience.
My paintings are there until the end of May and admission is free.

Herne Bay Library

"Now and Then" takes a nostalgic view of the seaside town and then looks at the
Kentish landscapes of today of that area.
The exhibition is there until the 23rd May.
